A skincare routine is made up of several steps. It is important to understand the interest of each one. V Here is a detailed guide to understanding the interest of each.
1. Cleanser 🫧
Cleansing is the fundamental step to maintain healthy skin. It helps eliminate excess sebum, pollution, makeup residue and other impurities accumulated throughout the day. It prevents the obstruction of pores and limits the appearance of imperfections.
There are two types of cleaner:
- water-based cleanser in the form of foam, gel or soap
- oil-based cleanser to use before the water-based one to remove your makeup
Ideally, use the double cleansing technique (oil + water-based cleanser) for optimal results.
2. Toner: Rebalance and Refresh ✨
Toner, or tonic lotion, in liquid form or soaked cotton pads because it mainly contains water and has a specific action depending on the active ingredients it contains:
- Soothe the skin
- Moisturize the skin
- Exfoliate skin to unclog pores
3. Essence 🌊
Essence is more or less like a toner but is less liquid. The texture is thicker. Essence is used to moisturize or strengthen the skin barrier
4. Light bulb 💧
The ampoule is a treatment concentrated in targeted active ingredients, many more active ingredients than a toner and an essence. It is intended to treat a specific need of the skin (hydration, radiance, anti-aging, etc.).
5. Serum ⚡
The serum is also a concentrated treatment that penetrates deep to treat specific problems such as spots, acne or skin aging. More or less similar to the ampoule.
We will have different active ingredients:
- Squalane → Hydration
- Niacinamide → Radiance and sebum regulation
- Vitamin C → Anti-spots and radiance
- Retinol → Anti-aging and cell renewal
6. Eye Contour Cream 👁
The skin around the eyes is fragile and is the first to show signs of fatigue and aging.
Its role is to:
- reduce the appearance of dark circles and puffiness with ingredients like caffeine or ginseng.
- prevent and reduce fine lines thanks to active ingredients such as retinol or peptides.
7. Moisturizing Cream 🧴
Moisturizing is an essential step to keep skin supple and healthy. It seals in moisture and protects the skin barrier. Depending on your skin type, you will choose a cream that is more or less light
8. Sun Protection ☀️
Applying SPF is essential to preserve the youthfulness and health of the skin. It prevents premature aging and pigment spots.
It protects against UV rays. UVA rays cause skin aging while UVB rays cause burns and even skin cancer.
It is applied in the form of a cream or stick and the application must be renewed every 2 to 3 hours.
Obviously, I don't impose. I recommend!
However, in my opinion the mandatory steps are as follows:
- cleaning
- the serum
- face cream
- my sunscreen (check the UV index of the day)
